Unlock a world of adventure and growth for your child with Cub Scout Pack 4686. Imagine them camping under the stars, hiking along beautiful Pacific Northwest beaches, and engaging in meaningful community service. They’ll also experience the thrill of the Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta. Our supportive and engaging environment helps kids build life skills and lasting friendships. Join us and watch your child thrive in this exciting journey.
New families and prospective scouts are welcome at our Pack Meetings, but we ask that you contact us first so we know to expect you. Den meetings often change location to accommodate scout adventures.
1. Let us know!
Our pack is busy, and there’s a ton of activities to participate in. Please contact us to let us know you’re interested in joining the pack. That way we can let our Cub Master and Den Leaders know to expect you.
2. Visit a Pack Meeting.
Our Pack Meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month at the Naval Elks Lodge in downtown Port Angeles. These meetings are pack-wide, and they’re an opportunity for scouts to have fun and earn recognition for their hard work. You’ll be able to meet the Cubmaster, Den Leader and other volunteers who help make the pack run. Plus, your child will be able to meet fellow scouts.
3. Join us for more activities.
If you like what you see at the Pack Meeting, consider joining us for one of our regular Den Meetings or other activities. This allows your cub scout to get to know the other kids. And it gives you a chance to get to know the adult leaders who volunteer their time to make the pack run.
We encourage you to join us for a pack meeting and two additional meetings or activities before making a commitment. We ask that you wait to attend a campout until your paperwork is complete.
4. Complete your paperwork.
If your cub scout enjoys the meetings and new friends, and you think pack 4686 is a good fit for your family, we invite you to join! To join the pack, you’ll need to complete paperwork and pay dues.
- Please complete an application for each scout and any adult volunteers. You can also request a paper application from the Cub Master.
- Pay annual dues. If you need help or financial assistance, please get in touch with us.
- Complete a medical form for each participant (parts A + B) This is required before attending any campouts or similar outdoor activities, and it helps keep scouts safe.
- Sign up for Scout Book. Scout Book allows you to track your cub scout’s progress on adventures and awards.
- Complete Youth Protection Training. This training supports safe scouting.
- Read the New Cub Scout Family Information Guide. This guide offers information on how the program works, what to expect and how to help.
- Review our pack’s behavioral expectations with your child. Scouting is fun for everyone when participants take the Scout Oath and Law to heart. This also means keeping your hands to yourself and treating others with respect, kindness, and courtesy.
What happens next?
Once you’ve turned in your application and completed your paperwork, you’ll be assigned to a Den. Cub Dens are grouped by age and grade level. They work on age-appropriate activities and adventures under the guidance of a Den Leader.
You will also be given access to our private Facebook Group and Band channel. These groups help facilitate easy communication and sign-ups for events.
